ANTIQUE ANIMAL FIGURAL SILVER-PLATED AND METAL INKWELLS AND INKSTAND, LOT OF THREE, comprising a silver-plated inkstand featuring two inkwells in the form of tree stumps with interior glass liners covered by hinged lids engraved "T." and "L.", flanking a figural bird perched on a branch, all on a naturalistic base having a pen holder to the front edge, raised on four feet; a colorless pressed glass inkwell with matching cover that sits in a silver-toned metal base featuring three frogs / toads; and a colorless pressed glass inkwell with replaced metal cover, sitting in a sheet-iron base with an applied white-metal standing cat figure having a painted finish. Unmarked. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Inkstand 3 3/8" HOA, 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" OA base.

Condition
Fair to very good overall condition with wear and other imperfections including surface scratches, nicks, bending, and/or worn spots/losses to finishes; inkstand with one lid detached from hinge but included, a few minute holes to base probably as made, glass liners having some roughness and a flake to bottom edges with some or all being as made; glass inkwell with matching lid undamaged except for some roughness along base rim and cover rim, cover with a few minor flakes to interior rim edge, probably some or all as made; remaining example with metal base having overall bending and does not lay flat, solder repair at terminal of cat tail tip and base, scattered losses to paint, glass inkwell with a small chip and a few flakes to rim, otherwise undamaged, cover with denting.
