Josse van Clichtove or Judocus Clichtoveus Neoportuensis (1472/73-1543) was an important Flemish reform humanist and controversial Catholic theologian of the Reformation period; one of the most influential teachers at the Sorbonne in Paris, initially sided with the humanists and, as a result of religious disputes, sided with the strict scholastics. As a supporter of moderate reforms, he turned decisively against Luther.
