Description
A folded Roman bottle with two handles made of glass, late 3rd - early 4th centuryMould blown glass bottle. Pine cone-shaped body made of light green glass with curved, gentle ribs. Longitudinal folds below the shoulder. Narrow, cylindrical neck with a wide, funnel-shaped edge rim, with threaded support on the underside. Handle and base knob made of turquoise blue glass, handle attachments connected by thread support. Iris and incrustations. Extremely elegant and intact glass. Height 20.6 cm.Provenance: From a private collection in Frankfurt. Acquired in April 2016 from Hermann Historica (Auction 72, lot 4597). Previously in a Belgian private collection, acquired in an auction house in the Benelux Countries in 2003.Condition: II
