A Flemish or French cuirassier's helmet, circa 1620The skull forged in two pieces with 20 finely chased ribs arranged around the edge. Star-shaped crown plate with a riveted loop. The plume socket riveted at the nape. The pivoted peak with a turned edge. Ridged visor plate with rosette-shaped breathing holes on both sides. The eye openings with a prominently roped flange. The bevor with a hook closure on the side. The riveted gorget with a turned edge. Pitting on some of the surfaces. Height 29 cm.Condition: II -
