Description
J. Wagner and Sohn. Marked 800, no. 152725 for the yacht Ingomar, which was awarded the Krump Memorial Prize in a sea race, 1904. Shows a fully rigged Scandinavian style sailboat with a lone sailor riding on a crested wave. The Ingomar was owned by Morton Plant, American railroad baron, philanthropist, industrialist, and yachtsman. Plant was a member of the New York Yacht Club. Mounted on a custom mahogany base with an English silver plaque. It has a worn gilded finish. 20 3/4" high, 22" wide, 10 1/2" deep. The base is 3 1/2" high, 20" x 12 3/4". Approximately 9 lbs total, or 13.1 ozt. Provenance: directly from Morton Plant's great grandson. Please note: this must be paid for by wire transfer, known check, or cash.
