Description
William James Muller (1812-1845) limited edition, steel engraving titled Prayer in the Desert. It was engraved by William Radclyffe, after the painting by Muller, which hangs in the Birmingham Museum. Radclyffe originally produced this engraving in 1847, and it was published in The Art Journal. This framed piece was produced in 1880 by D. Appleton and Company on thick, heavy stock. It is double matted in a floating mat, and framed under glass. It measures 11 inches x 14 inches. This piece was acquired from a Virginia estate. , 11 inches x 14 inches, LOT REF #23-322
