ROUAULT, GEORGES
Quatorze planches gravées pour Les Fleurs du mal. Paris, l'Étoile Filante, 1966. Copy 373 of 450 numbered copies. Loose sheets in publisher's tan wrappers in orange cloth chemise and slipcase. 18 1/4 x 13 3/4 inches (45 x 34.5 cm); 14 full-page etchings with aquatint by Rouault, numbered in pencil, lower margins. Minor soiling to slipcase, the book fine.
The plates here were originally executed by Rouault in 1926 and 1927, for an edition of Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal planned by Vollard. The series was never completed, and the plates, prepared by Jacquemin, remained unpublished until their appearance here. Chapon 214-227.
