Description

(Walt Disney World, 1970s-1990s) A prop J. Thaddeus Toad fireplace andiron from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in the Magic Kingdom. This iteration of the ride featured a left track and a right track that gave Guests wildly different experiences. On the right track, two of these prop andirons flanked a fireplace that your motorcar crashed through early in the ride. Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride’s closure in 1998 to make room for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was met with “Toad-In” protests from devoted fans, to no avail. The beloved ride’s memory lives on with this prop. Measuring 26” x 58.75”, the metal prop is in very good condition with paint chipping and wear on the front, while the back includes identifying information and exhibits heavy oxidation and typical wear from Park use.
