Description
Victor Leroy Sparks (1884 - 1962) Watercolor on Paper, Signed lower right, Measures 8 x 10 and 13 x 17 inches w/ frame. Victor Leroy Sparks was born in Portland, Oregon on August 31, 1884. Sparks was a pupil at the Partington Art School in San Francisco at the time of the earthquake in 1906. He then joined his family in Skagway, Alaska. In 1920-22 he was a salmon fisherman in Eagle Harbor, Washington. He then returned to Skagway where he worked as a sign and poster painter until his demise on December 29, 1962.
