Description
Albert Speer (1905-1981) German architect. Adolf Hitler's personal chief architect and minister for armaments and war production. Speer expanded slave labor, supplied mainly from concentration camps. He was convicted at Nuremberg and served a 20-year sentence at Spandau Prison in West Berlin. Typed letter signed, on his personal letterhead, 1 page, 8.25 x 11.5 inches, Heidelberg, 7.11.1970, in German to a Mr. Jamison: 'I consider it my duty to help with research into Hitler's period. You can imagine that many historians turn to me as a 'source.' I would like to do the same in your case. I think it is best to wait until your research has progressed further and you can ask more precise questions. Unfortunately, I have no contact with Mr. von Schirach; I don't know his address. I could perhaps provide you with other addresses if you would tell me your specific topic.' Signed at conclusion in blue ink by Albert Speer.
