Moore & Son Silver Epergne Centerpiece for Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1865 Marks: TIFFANY & CO., M, 1943, ENGLISH STERLING 925-1000, 2492, M, 550 BROADWAY 24-3/8 x 18 x 18 inches (61.9 x 45.7 x 45.7 cm) (overall) 6080 grams (195.47 troy ounces) Monogram: JHH Inscription: FIDELE The epergne, with large, oval bowl supported by scroll-shaped handles; upper bowl rests upon column with pierced scrolling strapwork capital; the four central bowls, each with scroll-form handles and surmounting ball and tear-drop pendants; the column with applied pierced scrolling decoration, terminating in shell motif cabriole legs applied to stepped base; all atop four stepped feet with scrolling strapwork decoration applied to textured ground.
