Description
Of characteristic form, well carved of a single large section of pale jade and set with numerous cabochon rubies and emeralds with faceted center stones, white sapphires or diamonds. Each stone bordered in high-karat gold vinework, forming an six-petaled flower. Mid-18th century. Minor loss to gold at the lower edge. Archers rings were worn on the thumb wherever the Mongolian release was used across Asia. Early on, elaborate examples wrought of the finest materials also became items of prestige amongst royalty and nobility and were worn at court throughout Asia and Near East.
