Gene Hendrickson (1899-1971)

Joseph Eugene "Gene" Hendrickson was born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1899. He moved to Northfield, NJ, while still young. Gene worked as a carpenter, sneak-box builder, and professional decoy carver. He trained under carver Mark Kears Jr. (1856-1946) who influenced Hendrickson's early period carving style.
