Description
Stunning William Ker Reid sterling footed salver. An amazing piece for any sterling collector. Monogrammed to "Chris Dunphy To whom is due in great measure the credit for the development of The Lyford Cay Golf Course January 1, 1959" Chris Dunphy was a longtime golfing partner of JFKs in Palm Beach, Florida. Apparently, the golfing buddies typically had a bet going on the game and one story has it that once when JFK was losing badly to Dunphy, he had the caddy tell him that if he did not ease up on the President, there was a chance that the IRS would be looking over his tax returns.
