Poland Spring Hotel Small Serving Platter
Item Details
Description
This is a Poland Spring Hotel small serving platter. This hotel was served by the Maine Central and Grand Trunk Railroads. While this was not a railroad hotel, the owners, the Ricker family, would use the railroads to move the water from the mineral springs in the area, and tourists came to the area for use of the springs for medicinal purposes as well as to recreate. Poland Spring also had its own railroad to service the spring and bottling facility. Platter measures 8.25 inches long and 5.75 inches wide. Nice used piece with no ships or cracks. Backstamped SHENANGO CHINA, NEW CASTLE, PA and MADE FOR MORANDI-PROCTOR CO, BOSTON MASS.
