Description
A Pennsylvania Queen Anne Walnut Chest on Frame, Third Quarter 18th Century. The molded cornice above three over two short drawers, above three long graduated drawers, the upper left and right drawers with Quaker locks. The frame with molded waist above a deeply scalloped skirt to three sides, raised on cabriole legs terminating in trifid feet.
Dimensions: Height 65 1/4in; width 40 1/2in; depth 23in; case width 37 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface. The crown molding with minor breaks/repairs to either side. The sides of case with shrinkage, age cracks and abrasions. One drawer with a spliced repair to lip of drawer front. The brass hardware appears to be original and polished; heavy polish residue around and behind brasses. Each drawer with lockplate. No keys.
