Description
Any paper from this "interesting" 1932 drama horror is rare. Directed by Tod Browning, Freaks stars a travelling circus, with the cast comprising real-life sideshow performers who exhibit disabilities. MGM figured the movie would prove a hit and hired Browning based on his successful collaboration with Lon Chaney on Dracula (1931). However, upon its initial release at the box office, Freaks turned out to be disastrous due to its controversial content, and it was quickly pulled from distribution by MGM. The rights for the movie were sold to Dwain Esper, who re-released it in the late 1940s. This US Three-Sheet was created for a 1949 re-release and was printed in two sections designed to overlap. A poster highly desired and sought after by collectors.
