An antique Islamic Cauldron, 12th / 13th centuries, the Khorasan region of Iran., made of copper, defect (small hole), lack of rim and ancient repair (all photographed in close-ups),

This is a type of Islamic large cooking pot that was made of metal such as bronze or copper, which was intended for cooking over an open fire. Usually the vessel had a dedicated hanger that allowed it to be hung directly above the fire. In ancient times these tools were used for cooking by nomads in field conditions
