Tom Rippon Surrealist Figural Ceramic Teapot. Designed as an hommage to Magritte including "Ceci n'est pas une pipe," the head forming an elongated neck and with scroll form handle, straight cylindrical body, elongated finger forming the theoretical spout, with pipe and smoke terminate. Painted in polychrome enamels. Signed in graphite RIPPON and dated 1997. {Approximate dimensions: 11 1/4" H. x 7 1/2" W. x 4" D.}. Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco. Condition: One section of handle broken off and glued back to body. Otherwise, minimal surface wear. Light freckling to flat yellow surface as manufactured.
