Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), mid-/late 19th century
The inrobuta (flush-fitting lid) decorated in gold and slight red hiramaki-e, e-nashiji and gold takamaki-e with pine, maple and cedar trees shaking in a violent rainstorm, the design extending down the sides of the box, the inside of the lid and box and underside of rich nashiji, unsigned; with a plain wood storage box. 4cm x 9cm (1 9/16in x 3½in).
