ROMAIN DE TIRTOFF (ERTE) 90TH BIRTHDAY EPHEMERA
Circa, 1982. Included in this collection is Erte's 1982, 90th Birthday Retrospective poster, framed. This is one of the only 90 posters produced and given as gifts to the 90 guests present at Erte's 90th birthday celebration hosted at Dyansen Gallery in Soho, NYC. In accompaniment, an original of the photograph by Robert Farber taken for the Retrospective poster and gifted to Leonardo Restivo, creative art director for the direct mail division of Saks Fifth Avenue, with hand-signed inscription by Erte and signed by the photographer. The original envelope affixed to the verso. Additionally, included is an original a color slide of Erte and Diana Ross photographed by Robin Platzer at his 90th birthday party. Diana Ross co-hosted the event with Gloria Vanderbilt on November 10, 1982, and performed a special "Happy Birthday" for the man of honor.


Robert Farber (b. 1944) is an American photographer known for his work in fashion, with an aptitude towards sensual photography in the 1970s that led to him being hired by both Playboy and Penthouse. Today, his work is held in the collections of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City and the International Center of Photography in New York.

Robin Platzer is renowned for capturing celebrities throughout the dynamic photographic history of the disco era, and in particular, the culture of the venue Studio 54 and its legendary habitu?s. In the years since she first began her work, she has been featured in the pages of People, Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Glamour. Subjects include David Bowie, Andy Warhol, Cher, and Mick Jagger.
