Description

DESCRIPTION: Sleek and finely crafted antique black lacquered box featuring on its lid two metal panels - one depicting cranes flaying before the sun on the horizon, one depicting Mt. Fuji among hazy clouds. Interior sports a removable tray over a larger compartment. Each panel is signed: seal script for cranes, cursive kanji for Mt. Fuji. Lip of lid and base are trimmed with silver lining.
CIRCA: 19th Century
ORIGIN: Japan
DIMENSIONS: H: 4.75" W: 9" L: 12"
CONDITION: Crane panel has been reattached; minor wear and hairline cracks evident in spots of lacquer
