Description: Elementa Euclidea Geometriae planae ac solidae Tacquet (Andrea) 2 parts in 1 volume Titles with woodcut embellishments by Giuseppe Antonio Elia Neapoli, 1744; initial title has a small hole to the blank area that has been mended and stained in ink; folded woodcut diagrams mounted on stubs; several have minor flaws or repairs made with archival tape; foxing and browning bound with: Taquet, Andreae A Selection of Archimedean Theorema Neapoli; two pieces combined in one volume, 1760 Toned and soiled original vellum with small tears at the joints and spine ends Dimensions: 5 by 7.5" Andre Tacquet (1612–1660), a Jesuit priest and Brabantian mathematician, was also known by his Latinized name, Andrea Tacquet. Tacquet disagreed with the indivisibles technique and supported Euclid's geometry and Aristotle's philosophy.
