The South Tyrolean artist Benedetto Fellin studied at the Vienna Art Academy under Rudolf Hausner. He received the Hausner Promotion Prize in 1979, the Akademiefreundepreis in 1983 and the Theodor Koerner Prize in 1984. Fellin's study trips took him to Asia, Africa and Central America and influenced the subject matter of his paintings. His pictures were shown in Vienna, Innsbruck, Kiel, Munich, Tokyo, Bangkok, Mexico, and elsewhere. Works by Benedetto Fellin can be found, in addition to numerous private collections, at Belvedere in Vienna, at Ferdinandeum Innsbruck and at the Reinhold Messner Museum 'MMM', South Tyrol. In Fellin's figurative painting, the viewer encounters seemingly fantastic worlds in which the peculiarities of people, cultures and landscapes are contextualized in a realistic painting style. Fellin lives and works in Vienna and Hungary.
