Description
A late 19th century gold brooch, with cannetille detail and split pearl and blue enamel highlight.
Length 4cms. 9.2gms.
Condition Report:Surface scratches/ wear, varied discolouration and some minor dents in keeping with general age and use.
Brooch electronically tests as gold, with presumed gilt interference.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
Minor fissures to metal and pitting to front of brooch.
Central panel is slightly loose in setting, requires attention.
Glue or similar residue visible to reverse of brooch.
Enamel with some minor abrasions/losses.
