A German silver flatware service possibly Bruckmann & Söhne, stamped crown and crescent and 800, also POSEN All engraved with the same initials GFM, in the Art Deco / moderne, with stylised overlapping drapes, comprising: eighteen table forks, eigheen table spoons, fifteen dessert forks, eighteen fish forks, eighteen fish knives, eighteen teaspoons, eighteen coffee spoons, with gilt bowls, eighteen table knives and fifteen dessert knives, with steel blades; together with other items, weight of weighable silver 175oz. (Qty) Footnotes: The initials GFM are for Gustav and Flora Mayer. Gustav was a prominent Berlin German/ Jewish intellectual and author in the first part of the century. Gustav and Flora were refugees to Britain in the late thirties with a written recommendation from Einstein.
