A George III silver bright-cut nutmeg grater Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson, London 1790 Oblong form with canted corners, the hinged cover with cartouche inscribed 'IE' opening to reveal a gilt interior and fixed grater, the exterior highly decorated with bright-cut floral swags, prick-dot and wriggle-work motifs against a horizontal line-work ground, the hinged base intricately engraved with sunrays emanating from a central circular star-flower, height 2.3cm, length 5cm, weight 1.5oz.
