Description
Great working example of a heavy cast iron Salter's domestic balance scale made for English chemists Boots. The green paint is original color. Unique in that this scale comes with baby weight wicker basket as well as standard tin basket for other bulk items. Two mounting holds for the baskets included as well. Balances properly, has a lovely rust patina, can be left as is or make an ideal full restoration project. Salter knotted rope trademark present on scale face.For the English footie fans, worth noting that the Salter factory football team formed in 1878 became West Bromwich Albion. Lovely rare and unique piece. Ideal for high end boutique grocery or restaurant display.Wicker basket dimensions - 22x13x3in, basket dimensions - 10" inch diameter
