An original 1904 Bechstein Empire-style model V piano (serial number 67644) in mahogany with decorative ormolu detailing, used at both Sound City Studios in Los Angeles and at Waterfront Studios in New Jersey.

The piano was originally shipped from Berlin on June 15, 1904 to Bechstein Hall in London (now known as Wigmore Hall). It subsequently made its way to the United States where it was used in the main room at Waterfront Studios, and in studio-A at Sound City Studios. Numerous prominent artists recorded at these locations over the years, including Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, U2, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bob Dylan, Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Tool, Slayer, Rage Against the Machine, and Death Cab for Cutie.

Includes original soundboard, pinblock and action, and is accompanied by a pair of matching stools.
