A tie-dye ensemble, dyed by Catherine Sebastian and now-husband, The Lovin' Spoonful founder, John Sebastian, and worn by Catherine.
The short-sleeved, cotton top features a pink, orange, and yellow tie-dye pattern with a three button-down neckline and pink embroidered heart on the front, no size or label present. The shorts feature a blue, green, yellow, pink, and orange tie-dye pattern, two front pockets, and belt loops, no size or label present. Please note: holes and fraying present from age and use.
The ensemble was dyed, c. late 1960s- early 1970s, at the 46-acre artistic community near Studio City called "The Farm." At The Farm, Sebastian was nicknamed "guitar fingers" due to his tight grip on his fabric (strength gained from playing the guitar) during the tie-dye process.
