Description
A 1976 Rickenbacker 481-S electric guitar, 2215, in Mapleglo finish. Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
The Rickenbacker 481 shares its headstock and body shape with the 4000 series basses, designed by Roger Rossmeisl, a name familiar to those that have perused other Bachman lots. This model also has another seldom-seen feature: slanted frets. This was meant to increase playing comfort as the fingers of the playing hand often situate between frets at an angle. Whether or not it’s an advantage is, of course, up to the player.
Output jack plate is stamped “PC” which denotes a production date of March 1976. Plate is heavily rusted and should be cleaned or replaced.
A 25 inch scale length bolt-on maple neck with a bound 24 fret rosewood fretboard with triangle inlays. A maple body in Mapleglo finish with chrome hardware, two pickups, volume and tone controls for each pickup, a selector and phase reversal switches.
Includes black hardshell case with blue interior.
