Etching on Montval laid paper with Vollard watermark, an unsigned proof with the Marina Picasso inkstamp on the reverse (Lugt 3698), from the edition of 260 (there was also an edition of 50 with wider margins), published by Ambroise Vollard, Paris, 1939, with full margins, framed.

Richly inked impression with tonal contrasts. Faint surface soiling, and mat staining in the margins and time staining on the sheet edges, a few scattered foxmarks in the margins, minor abrasion on the upper right sheet edge visible in raking light, a pencil notation lower right in the margin, Verso: with two Japan paper hinges on the top left and right sheet edge attached to the front mat, with the purple Marina Picasso collection inkstamp in the lower right corner and pencil notations, rippling in the left and right sheet edges.
