About: Developed in 1958 by Norman Cherner for Plycraft cemented in history as one the most dramatic and iconic chairs of American Mid Century Modern design. The Avant Garde design was accomplished using laminated layers of plywood covered with a walnut veneer. Dainty in appearance with a surprisingly astute structural strength. This remarkable chair is featured in the collections of design institutes across the globe including the Vitra Design Museum in Germany. A terrific chance to own a piece of design history for an affordable price.

Condition Details: This stunning set of chairs save for the original vinyl upholstery received a complete restoration. The wood has been refinished and brought back to it's original luster showing only a few veneer repairs (which can be seen in the photos provided) as well as a few minor nicks and light surface scratches. The rich vinyl is in superb original condition with no rips stains or blemishes. All chairs are structurally sound and ready for decades more use.
