An ancient Pre Columbian Tiahuanaco polychrome kero pottery vessel from Bolivia. Circa 200 to 800 AD. The item is decorated with the stylized designs characteristic of the type in red, white, and brown. Kero is a ceremonial vessel of the South American Indians. Such vessels played an important role in social and religious rituals, for example, craftsmen were known to make pairs of identical keros that were used for ceremonial toasts.
