Item Details
Description
This very rare pocket watch key was made around 1880 in Central Europe. It features an oval 18K gold frame with glass windows which reveal a flower framed monogram in the front and French human hair braidwork in the back. The frame is finely crafted from black enamel with white enamel flowers. The piece was likely a piece of mourning jewelry that a gentelman used as both, a tool for winding his pocket watch, and a keepsake of a beloved deceased family member. Measures approx. 1 3/4" long x 7/8" wide and weighs ca. 4.8 grams.
