Description
Minnie Reinhardt (1898-1986) "Winter Landscape" 1983 Oil on Masonite In a Barn Wood Frame. Minnie painted from memory to illustrate life in rural North Carolina communities she grew up in. the area she grew up in was known as Jugtown, for all the clay pottery made there, including pottery made by her father. She was from a family of 11 and worked for many years as cook at Lenoir-Rhyne college. She sewed for the public as well as raising six children of her own. Most of her painting was after she had raised her children. In 1996, the Hickory Museum of Art hosted an exhibit of 100 of her paintings. Painting measures 18" X 24". Frame measures 22 1/2" X 28 3/8". Condition- Good condition. See photos.
