A 19th century brass snuff box of rectangular form with canted corners, the lid engraved with a baby in a cradle with a seated figure beside and two figures peering in, the ends with panels of text, possibly Dutch, the underside with text within a heart flanked by two cherubs, 15cm x 5.5cm x 3.5cm together with a rounded rectangular snuff box in tortoiseshell with panels of Chinoiserie carving, the hinge and clasp in white metal, possibly Chinese, 9.5cm x 4.5cm x 2cm (2)

Condition Report:

• Brass box - visible polish residue
• scratching to the inside with a faint date of 1887
• Some apparent solder repairs to the inside but not visible to the exterior
• Tortoiseshell example has some minor scuffs and scratches
• There appear to be some pin repairs to the surrounding clasp
• Slightly warped to the top particularly
