Wonderful quarter plate studio ambrotype of a spaniel dog atop a table with tinted blue tablecloth and surrounded by classical decor. Dog's paws and face are tinted a light brown. Housed in a union case with high relief decoration of the Washington Monument. Several very minor flea bites to edges of case, otherwise crisp. Some apparent light marks/abrasions to bottom half of photograph. Otherwise good. Overall: 4 7/8 x 5in. This lot is part of a larger collection of ambrotypes and daguerreotypes also found in this auction.
