A Georgian silver teapot, of oblong form with embossed finial, decoratively engraved rim and leaf capped scroll handle, the squat body having fluted border upon ball feet, hallmarked London 1818, height 24cm; plus a 20th century silver bachelor teapot, having shaped rim and feet of conforming design, hallmarked Birmingham 1945. Gross overall weight 29.4ozt (915.5g).

Georgian example:

• Hinged lid to Georgian example is quite wobbly.
• Hallmarks to Georgian example are very worn, with the Assay and duty mark being just about visible to central body. Hallmarks to interior of lid are clear, with the date mark legible.
• Top of Georgian example would benefit from a clean and polish, showing some tea stains.
• Definition to decorative rim is obscured and blobby.
• Central, plain body shows several small bashes and dints.
• Interior is very blackened and dirty.
• There is a notable, flat bash to the curve of the spout.

20th century example:

• Silver is dark but shiny.
• Feet don't appear bent, but there is a notable wobble, whereby one foot suspends above flat surface.
• Maker's mark is obscured, but hallmarks otherwise are clear and legible.
• There is an area to central body that is very scratched.
• Wooden finial is split
