Famous for its brand of innovative barber chairs, the Koken Manufacturing Company (originally Koken Barber Supply Co.) of Saint Louis, MO cast this early and rare barber pole. The red, white, and blue colors of the pole, in its original condition, are symbolic of the medieval duties of a barber to perform surgery and bloodletting. H 81" x W 11"
