JEFFERSON DAVIS' CAPTURE CARTE DE VISITE PHOTOS, LOT OF TWO, each depicting the former President of the Confederate States in women's clothing; the first with him being escorted by two Union soldiers, and captioned "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, or Jeff in Crinoline"; the second with him holding a large knife or "Arkansas toothpick," and marked to the obverse "C. J. I. MURRAY / PHOTOGRAPHER / Myerstown, Pa." Second half 19th century. Each 4" x 2 1/2".

Each with edge and corner wear, and some creases; the first with some minor stains, including a small area of pink or red color; the second with wear and losses to the corner of the photo.
