PAIR OF AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) ANIMAL SCENE PAINTINGS, oil on wooden panel (each), a charming pair of winter / summer narrative scenes, featuring a mule in front of a pen / shed with caged bird hanging by door (bird absent and door closed in winter scene). No signature located. Black-painted beveled outer edge of panel acts as frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 24 1/2" x 11 1/2" object.
