A rare matte painting created and used in the first season Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "11001001". Matte paintings were used to create large scene's that needed to be film, but were deemed too expensive or impossible to create. These beautiful pieces of art were created by hand, drawn, sketched, and painted, then the final version was photographed and inserted into the scene on film. This piece depicts the scene where the Enterprise-D docks with a Federation starbase to undergo routine maintenance. This piece is attached to a piece of black art board with a small section of tape at the bottom and the name "Enterprise". The painting measures 20" x 16" and the overall presentation measures 26" x 18". This item remains in excellent condition and comes direct from the collection of Gary Hutzel.
