3 signed Scott County, Virginia, Jones family baskets, by Bertha, Jessie, and Ivan Jones. All white oak, rib-type split baskets with handles secured by nails at the rim. 1st item: Oval basket signed by Jessie Jones on handle. 6 1/4" H x 10 3/4" W. 2nd item: Small engagement basket initialed by Ivan Jones. 6 3/4" H x 8" W. 3rd item: Miniature engagement basket signed on the underside of the handle by Bertha Jones. 5 1/4" H x 7" W. Biography: In 1929, Jessie presented Bertha a small handmade basket as a marriage proposal.
