Huge Weller Sicard vase "“ the largest known to exist at 30"h x 15"d. Signed "Weller Sicardo" on side near base. Provenance: "Originally came from Sam Weller"™s home. It has been in the White Pillars Museum Collection until 1976 when the contents were sold to Harold Nichols of Ames, Iowa. It has had 3 other owners since then: Robin Crawford of San Francisco, Terry Scanlin of New York; Mike Nickel/Cindy Horvath of Portland, Michigan. Quality-wise, there is no better example in any collection or museum. Mike Nickel 6/14/01" These large examples of Weller Pottery were made for the 1904 St Louis Worlds Fair. 5% of this lot will benefit The Dirk van Erp Foundation.
