Description
Framed Japanese woodblock / woodcut by Ohara Koson (1877-1945). Depicts two swans swimming. Signed and with red seal. Visible image measurement 8.5" x 13.5". Framed and matted under glass measuring 14" x 19". Has not been examined outside of the frame.
HISTORY NOTE: Ohara Koson, pupil of Suzuki Kason in Toyko. He signed with the name Koson, publisher originally was Daihei Ryogoku. After 1912 he dedicated himself to brush painting and called himself Shoson. In 1926 he returned to wood-cutting, his publisher at this time was Watanabe, signature Shoson.
