Description
Lorenz Furtwangler & Sohne (German, 1836-1929), circa 1881-1900. A late Victorian Eastlake style walnut weight-driven grandfather clock or tall case clock having an scroll carved pediment with turned finial over the square glazed door opening to a circular brass dial in white enamel and black Roman numerals, the glazed trunk door decorated with carved openwork scrolling fretwork with pendulum window raised on a stepped plinth base. Stamped to the backplate of movement with trademark of the letters 'LFS' inside a wheel and numbered #284. Approximate height 91", width 21.5", depth 11". Provenance: From the Collection of Mr. George Bradford Clear, Roswell, Georgia.
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. Some seam separation and cracking to case, likely from shrinkage. Some nicks, dings, surface scratching, minor losses, and accretions overall. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
