Description
A large and impressive Egyptian bronze figure of Osiris, Late Period, c. 664 - 343 BC, hollow cast and standing on a square integral base, mummiform, wearing atef crown with uraeus and false beard, arms folded over chest, hands clutching a crook and flail, broad collar of several layers around his neck. The figure is beautifully detailed with handsome features and overall pleasant style. H: 11 ¾ in (29.7 cm). Nice brown surfaces with patches of green. Ex estate of Henry Plumer McIlhenny, PA (d.1986) by decent from his father.
