An Epistle from Our General Spring Meeting of Ministers and Elders for Pennsylvania and New Jersey, held at Philadelphia, from the 29th of the Third Month, to the 1st of the Fourth Month, inclusive, 1755. 4to, unbound, 4pp. [Philadelphia, PA: James Chattin, 1755] Evans 7422.
A religious tract produced by the Quakers, addressed "To Friends on the Continent of America," in which the meeting's pacifism in the face of "national contests productive of misery and bloodshed" is reaffirmed. Signed in print by 14 ministers and elders, including Jacob Howell, James Bartram, Joseph White, John Scarbrough, John Woolman, Josiah Foster, Joseph Tomlinson, John Evans, Mordecai Yarnall, Daniel Stanton, John Churchman, William Morris, Isaac Andrews, and Samuel Abbott
Condition
Horizontal folds, with some separation along folds, especially near central vertical fold. With some light soiling along horizontal folds. Some light foxing. With some small chips along perimeter of each page, with one larger chip in top left corner of pamphlet.
Some areas of toning to image.
