Description
The Northern Whig. Hudson, NY: February 21, 1815, from the New-York Evening Post Extra of Sunday Evening, February 19. Broadside newspaper extra, 13 x 20 in., framed, 18.75 x 25.5 in.
Boldly headed "Treaty of Peace," the broadside features an early printing of the Treaty of Ghent, which brought an end to the War of 1812. Signed in type by James Madison, James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, Albert Gallatin, and others.
Condition
Stain throughout most of newspaper. Some spotting, especially along right and bottom margins. Typical folds, with few small holes at folds. Some corner and edge loss that does not impact text. Not examined outside frame.
Wear consistent with use.
